We are excited to announce the completion of our new shelter that can accommodate an additional 100 cows with modern facilities and care.

The Significance of Cow Festival

The cow has been revered in Indian culture for thousands of years. In Hindu tradition, the cow is a symbol of wealth, strength, abundance, selfless giving, and a full earthly life. The annual cow festival at Shree Vallabh Goshala is our way of honoring this sacred animal and raising awareness about cow protection and welfare.

During the festival, we perform various traditional rituals and ceremonies to honor the cows. These include:

  • Gau Puja (Cow Worship)
  • Feeding special treats to the cows
  • Decorating the cows with colorful ornaments
  • Performing aarti and other religious ceremonies
  • Cultural programs highlighting the importance of cows

Activities for Visitors

The cow festival is not just about religious ceremonies. It's also a time for the community to come together and participate in various fun and educational activities. Visitors of all ages can enjoy:

  • Guided tours of the goshala
  • Hands-on experience of feeding and caring for cows
  • Learning about organic farming and sustainable agriculture
  • Workshops on making cow dung products and other cow-based items
  • Cultural performances including music, dance, and drama
  • Food stalls serving traditional vegetarian delicacies
"The cow is the purest of all animals. It provides nourishment not just through its milk, but through its very existence. Protecting cows is not just our duty, it's our privilege." - Acharya Shree, Head of Shree Vallabh Goshala
